Come learn about the importance of Ohio’s native bees as pollinators, while also creating a bee house! We will provide native seed mixes so that participants can plant their own pollinator garden.
Participants will learn about the importance of Ohio’s native bees as pollinators while building their own bee house to give our local cavity-nesting bees more habitat. They will also learn the value of planting native wildflowers and will be given the resources needed to help bees reproduce and find food on their own property. (NOTE: Bee houses require annual maintenance (replacement of nesting materials) to promote healthy bee populations; therefore, we strongly urge participants to take a bee house only if they are able to maintain it. Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners will be offering replacement materials for participants’ second year of the bee house free of charge.)
Ten bee houses will be brought for construction/education - limit ten. There will be one bee house per individual registration or one house per family. The program is free and intended for adults and family audience. Everybody can attend it, but only registered will get the bee house (one per family).
