Pardon our dust! Borrowing from other libraries temporarily suspended for SearchOhio and OhioLINK upgrade.
Unlike watching your library polish up its physical facilities, these changes won’t be observable yet will result in a major upgrade to the technology that makes it possible for people to directly request and borrow books among participating Ohio college and public libraries.
Last year the 115 Ohio academic libraries in the OhioLINK consortium and the 60 Ohio public library branches in the SearchOhio consortium shared more than 6 million books and other print materials across Ohio, dramatically expanding the library materials available to library users. The new technology, currently in development, will integrate OhioLINK and SearchOhio’s existing platforms to simplify library user experiences and improve operational efficiencies and collaboration.
As with any renovation, there will be some disruption to services as Clarivate, our technology partner, begins the switch to the new system.
Key dates to note are:
5 p.m. on May 23, 2025: Lending of OhioLINK college library collections to SearchOhio public libraries will stop and resume at 8AM on October 27.
